Who I Am
Who am I?
That’s a great question. I’m not sure I can answer it.
I’m a former fundamentalist Baptist who was raised in the church and taught to love Jesus from a young age. But my love for Jesus came from a place of fear. In our worldview loving Jesus meant being afraid. I lived in constant fear of judgment from either my parents or God.
And so, I quit. I gave up living and working in fear. I looked for a God that loved and gave his Son for humanity. I will tell my story in some posts here on my blog, but through years of deconstruction and rebuilding, I found that my faith deepened, and I discovered something more beautiful than what I had received from my parents.
This blog will share my story of loss and rediscovery of a faith that is so much more than simply a way to escape hellfire. I hope you’ll join me as I discuss my faith from an Anabaptist perspective.
